Numero Uno by Jim Vetter and Phil Goldstein | You show five cards with large numbers -printed on them - 1 and four 5s. Card with the 1 subtracts itself from the others: a 5 changes into a 4, another 5 becomes a 3, another 5 turns into a 2. Now 1 changes to a 5 but the last card suddenly becomes an explosion of numbers across the face of the card! What a climax! |

| 23-06 | Out of the Fifth Dimension | You explain that Einstein spent a lifetime trying to prove the existence of a fourth dimension, yet you propose to out-do him by not only proving the existence of a FIFTH DIMENSION but by PRODUCING SOMETHING from the FIFTH DIMENSION ! !You back-up your statement by showing two cards to be devoid of any markings with the exception of a bold number in the upper left-hand corner of each card. Slowly you show side ONE, side TWO, side THREE and side number FOUR, and then with no false moves you show a side numbered FIVE with a figure FIVE that covers the entire card. FIVE sides on two cards !!! AND a mysterious numeral FIVE that appears out of nowhere . . . sorry "OUT OF THE FIFTH DIMENSION". A sensation! There are no flaps, no chemicals, and cards can be examined. ! |

Polish Poker by Dave Rumfelt | Magician explains that in Polish poker the backs of the cards are more important than the faces. He shows his hand containing four-of-a-kind and all blue backs (being the lowest hand in the game), so he snaps his fingers, turns the hand over and the backs now are of all different colors, which happens to be the highest hand in the game. Sidewalk Shuffle by Martin Lewis | This effect was originally based on Joe Riding's "Three Card Trick with Four Cards" which was marketed by Ken Brooke in England. However, the method is quite different. This is in three phases. The first two are similar, but with variations in handling. The third phase has an unexpected "knock-out" finale. In the first two phases three blank cards and an ace are shown. A blank is placed aside face down, and the ace put between the other two blanks. A spectator fails to find the ace because the three cards are shown one by one to be blank, and the ace is on the table. The third time the spectator usually guesses that the ace is on the table. But it is shown to be really a blank card, and the cards in the hand are shown to be ALL ACES! |

Six Mix by Larry West | Four cards are spread face down. Performer states that one of the cards is an odd one. He turns them face up and shows number 6 printed on the face and deal s it face down on the table mentioning the color of the number. He shows that the next card is also a 6 of the same color and deals that face down on the first card. The third card is also a 6 and performer deals it face down on the other two. He says that the fourth card is the odd card and shows that it is a 9, the same color as the sixes. He deals it face down in the other cards. He then mixes the cards and has spectator name a number from one to four. Spectator does and performer deals the cards face down on the table, placing the one at the spectators number forward in front of the other three. Performer says that it would be amazing if the spectator had selected the number 9, the odd card. As he says this, he slides the card around end to end. By this time the spectators are sure the performer is really trying to get away with a bold trick, as everyone knows that a 6 upside down is a 9. Performer states that if the spectator had selected the first card, he would have gotten a 6 and he turns it face up to show it. Then he turns up the other two, and they are the 7 and 8 in different colors. When he turns up the selected cord, it is indeed the nine in a completely different color. |

These cards are placed face-down on the table. Stun-Sational by Bro. John Hannan, S.M. | 4 Playtime cards are spread on the table. Each card is different in number and suit. Say: 2C-4H-10S-8D. The magician announces that he has a prediction of the SUIT of a card to be selected under an envelope. One of the small cards is selected by the spectator, say: 10 of S. Magi removes the envelope and beneath is seen a POKER-SIZED King of Spades. The prediction is correct! The magician states that he knew that card would be chosen ... and to prove it, the King Instantly Changes Into 3 Small Tens, these are of the other 3 suits. The spread of 4 small cards are still on the table. The magician removes the small 10 of Spades from the spread and it INSTANTLY CHANGES TO A POCKET-SIZED 10 OF SPADES .... VISIBLY.... |

Think A Number by Ken deCourcy | Here's a fine pocket trick that is far more than just that. It can be presented as a mental mystery with a spectator assisting you, and as such is ideal for small shows .... it can even be presented on-stage if you wish, the spectator acting as a "one-man committee on behalf of the audience". The spectator is handed a number of cards bearing figures on each side. He shuffles these cards around and places these in any way he wishes on the table, and with any sides up. The number on both sides of the cards are different .... it would appear to be absolutely impossible for the magician to have any idea whatsoever of the total. Although the performer has had his back turned throughout, he can divine the total of the faces showing! Cards come in a neat plastic wallet, a novel Card Discovery is included, a Card Location; a smashing Magazine test, - Three copies of a magazine are shown, one is freely chosen, a number is arrived at, and yet you reveal the chosen word, and an excellent prediction. Ideal pocket trick. |

Three Shell Monte Cards by Aldini | Aldini's "3 Shell Monte Cards" effect was inspired by Nick Trost's "Nutshell Monte." In this case, however, the routine and principle are quite different. The spectators try to follow the pea as you deal the cads face down but they fail every time. Finally, only the fourth card remains. You turn it over and find it BLANK. The pea has vanished! |

Twisting the Faces by Sam Schwartz | In this routine, you show the Ace, 2, 3, 4 of Spades. You then cause the cards to turn face-down, first the Ace, then the 2 and so on. At no time is more than one card reversed. At the conclusion, you show that the faces have changed from Spades to Hearts and then show that the backs have changed color also. The premise of this effect has received much attention over the past few years, Bro. John Hamman, Ralph Gironda and Lin Searles being prominent in the development of the idea. I hope you will enjoy this version. |

The card counted to is shown to have a FACE! All the other cards are BLANK-FACED!! The prediction is opened and what a climax for it says: YOU WILL PICK THE ONLY ODD CARD! Magician asks spectator to name color thoiaght of. When this is done, hank is removed, and spectator is holding only two cards — the third card has vanished.
