NOTES ON SOME OF THE AUTHORS/ILLUSTRATORS APPEARING ON THE LIST BELOW Virgil Finlay (1913-1971 - Revered
illustrator of science-fiction pulps such as Amazing Stories (1927, Weird Tales (1935-1939), American Weekly@ (1977),
and many more publications of that period. Some illustrations have been reprinted by Gerry de la Ree as listed
here. Hannes Bok [Wayne Woodward] (1914-1964) - Artist and Illustrator who created
paintings and black-and-white illustrations for many of the leading pulp
publications such as Weird Tales, Famous Fantastic Mysteries and others. John W. Campbell (1910-1971) - American
science-fiction fantasy writer and editor (pseudonym Dave E. Stuart) for whom two different awards are given to
budding sciemce-fiction writers annually. Clark Ashton Smith 1903-1971 - Poet,
painter, scltptor, and writer of many fantasy, horror and science-ficrion stories for magazines of the pulp paper
era. H. P. Lovecraft 1890-1937 - (Howard
Phillip) American author of horror and science-fiction that is favorably looked upon by writers of like material
- a classiv name in the science-fiction field.
